LPPO, Provincial Government Join Forces to Combat Fake News and Speed Up 911 Emergency Response
The Laguna Provincial Police Office (LPPO), with the strong backing of the Provincial Government of Laguna and Governor Sol Aragones, is intensifying efforts to deliver accurate information and faster police response for the safety of every Lagunense.
Nelson Bautista, Supervising Administrative Officer of PIO-Laguna, reaffirmed the office’s dedication to truth and timeliness in public communication. LPPO Chief PIO PLTCOL Jojo Sabeniano underscored, “Kaming mga kapulisan, hindi kami puwedeng maging purveyor ng fake news—kami po ang nag-iimbestiga.” He also recognized the unity between the LPPO and the network of information officers across the province.
PLTCOL Franco Allex Reglos detailed the initiatives of Provincial Director PCOL Jonar Yupio, which include the launch of a modern command center by the end of August, the installation of CCTV cameras in mobile patrol cars for round-the-clock monitoring, and the rollout of Operation 911. Citing the Chief PNP’s directive, he said, “Wag nyo na kami hanapin sa presinto. Kami ay nasa inyong mga telepono—just dial 911 at dadating ang kapulisan sa loob ng limang minuto.”
This enhanced 911 system ensures a rapid five-minute response to emergencies. Reglos added, “May load o wala, basta i-dial ang 911—may cellphone sila, may sasagot po sa ating police office.”
Through the unified efforts of the LPPO, the provincial government, and Governor Sol Aragones, Laguna is not only strengthening its stand against misinformation but also making emergency services more accessible, efficient, and reliable for the public.
