Malvar, Batangas — October 21, 2025 — Aboitiz Construction and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. have joined forces with Connected Women and the local government of Barangay Bagong Pook to launch the Elevate AIDA (Artificial Intelligence Data Annotation) Program, a digital empowerment initiative designed to equip women with essential skills for the modern workforce.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held in Barangay Bagong Pook, Malvar, Batangas. The program aims to train around 50 women in digital literacy and artificial intelligence data annotation — a fast-growing field that offers remote employment opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.

Part of the broader collaboration between Aboitiz Foundation and Connected Women, Elevate AIDA supports the national goal of empowering 300,000 women across the Philippines through technology-driven learning. By focusing on women in underserved communities, the initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusive participation in the digital economy.

“At Aboitiz Construction, we believe that technology can serve as an equalizer,” said Karmine Andrea Ching, Sr. Assistant Vice President for Business Transformation at Aboitiz Construction. “This program enables women to develop global competencies and showcases how purposeful innovation can create sustainable impact.”

Beyond digital skills, the training also integrates modules on financial empowerment and remote work readiness, ensuring that participants are equipped to pursue flexible and income-generating opportunities in the technology sector.

Mardi Mapa Suplido, Chief Operating Officer of Aboitiz Foundation, highlighted the shared mission behind the collaboration: “The Elevate AIDA program embodies our vision of shared progress and tangible empowerment. By partnering with Aboitiz Construction and Barangay Bagong Pook, we’re helping transform women into catalysts of sustainable growth.”

Barangay Chairperson Hon. Lilibeth Lat expressed gratitude to the partner organizations, noting that the program has sparked renewed hope and confidence among local women. “This initiative empowers our residents to gain new skills and take an active role in the digital economy. We look forward to more programs that uplift our community,” she said.

The first batch of trainees is set to graduate in December 2025, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward digital inclusion and economic self-sufficiency.

Through initiatives like Elevate AIDA, the Aboitiz Group continues to champion education, innovation, and social impact — driving change for a better, more inclusive digital future.
