Biblical values, sense of purpose key to progress — Cayetano
LAGUNA — Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano on Friday said true success and national transformation are rooted in faithfulness to one’s purpose and adherence to biblical principles, not in popularity, power, or material wealth.

Speaking at the Laguna Pastors and Workers Summit 2026 on January 30, Cayetano said the Bible provides guidance through what he called its “5 Ps”—power, purpose, potential, principle, and people—serving as a framework for meaningful success.

He warned that modern measures of success, such as social media popularity, wealth, or numbers, can be misleading and may pull people away from their true purpose.
“Ang success ay nakatali sa purpose mo,” Cayetano said, adding that biblical principles are constant and universally applicable.
“Kung ano ang iyong itatanim, iyon ang iyong aanihin.”
Cayetano urged pastors and church workers to continue praying for public officials so they may discover and live out their God-given potential, stressing that progress follows when biblical values are consistently practiced.
