CALAX NEARS FULL COMPLETION, SET TO STRENGTHEN REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY
The Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is moving closer to full completion, bringing the region one step closer to a more connected and accessible road network. Once completed, the 45-kilometer, four-lane expressway will provide a vital link between Cavite and Laguna, improving travel options for motorists and strengthening connections to key economic centers.
MPCALA Holdings, Inc. continues construction on the remaining 18.5 kilometers of the expressway, covering Subsections 1 and 2. Ongoing works include road paving, bridge construction, drainage installation, interchange ramps, and other essential infrastructure needed to complete the corridor.
Currently, CALAX is operational from Mamplasan in Biñan, Laguna, to Governor’s Drive in General Trias, Cavite. The completion of the remaining sections will extend the route through Open Canal to Kawit, Cavite, linking the expressway to the Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) through the CAVITEX-CALAX Link (CCLink).
Once fully operational, CALAX is expected to offer motorists a more direct travel option between Cavite, Laguna, and Metro Manila. It will also improve access to residential communities, commercial establishments, industrial zones, and other important destinations across the region.
Beyond easing travel, the completed expressway is expected to strengthen logistics and business operations by improving connections among industrial parks, warehouses, distribution hubs, commercial centers, and major markets. Better road connectivity can help facilitate the transport of raw materials, finished products, and other goods, supporting supply chains and economic activity across key growth areas.
The enhanced expressway network will likewise provide businesses with improved access to workers, suppliers, and customers, while creating additional opportunities for regional development. By strengthening the movement of people and goods, CALAX is poised to play an important role in advancing mobility, commerce, and economic connectivity throughout Cavite and Laguna.
CALAX is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project implemented with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as the government grantor and MPCALA Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, as the private concessionaire.
