Mapúa University and Ayala Launch New School of Hospitality and Tourism Management
October 2025 – Manila, Philippines — Mapúa University has expanded its academic portfolio with the official launch of its School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM), held at Seda, Ayala Malls Manila Bay Campus.
Leading the launch event, Mapúa University President and CEO Dr. Dodjie S. Maestrecampo reaffirmed the university’s commitment to nation-building and to preparing students for the evolving global and digital landscape of the hospitality and tourism industries.
The partnership was formalized with Ayala Land Hospitality President and CEO Mr. George Aquino and Ayala Malls Manila Bay General Manager Ms. Aileen Pescador, marking a milestone collaboration between Mapúa University and Ayala aimed at elevating the standards of tourism and hospitality education in the Philippines.

The SHTM offers two new programs: Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management. Both are designed to blend academic excellence with real-world experience. Through Ayala’s hospitality network, including Seda Hotels, students will gain access to internships, mentorship programs, and hands-on training opportunities that align with current industry needs.

University officials emphasized that the establishment of SHTM reflects Mapúa’s vision of innovation, relevance, and global competitiveness in higher education. The new school aims to produce future-ready professionals who will lead and innovate in the tourism and hospitality sectors both locally and internationally.
