Zonta Club of Laguna Launches Z and Golden Z Clubs in San Pedro to Inspire Youth Leadership and Community Involvement

San Pedro City, Laguna – On May 30, 2025, the Zonta Club of Laguna reached a significant milestone in its mission to empower women and the youth by officially launching four Z and Golden Z Clubs across four partner schools in the city. This initiative seeks to foster student leadership, civic awareness, and active community participation.
The newly formed clubs were established in collaboration with the following institutions and their school heads:
- Our Lady of Assumption College of Laguna, represented by Dr. Marion Acierto, Vice President for Academic Affairs
- Pacita Complex National High School, represented by Principal Janette B. Senarillos
- San Antonio Integrated National High School, represented by Principal Mary Jane Ellazo
- Calendola National High School, represented by Principal Renante R. Soriano
The clubs launched are as follows:
Z Clubs
- Calendola National High School
- San Antonio Integrated National High School
- Pacita Complex National High School
Golden Z Club
- Our Lady of Assumption College of Laguna
These student-led clubs will engage in a variety of impactful programs focused on education, gender equality, youth leadership, anti-teenage pregnancy awareness, and essential life skills development. The goal is to develop responsible, empathetic, and empowered youth leaders ready to contribute to their communities in meaningful ways.
The project was spearheaded by Zonta Club of Laguna President Ann Matibag, with valuable support from District 17 Z and Golden Z Clubs Committee Chair Dr. Lourdes Almeda Sese. Also playing key roles were committed Zonta members Atty. Maika Malamug-Tolentino, Minerva Ferranco, Maida Minette Ambayec, and Dr. Marion Acierto.
The launch of these clubs reinforces Zonta Club of Laguna’s enduring commitment to its global vision: to build a better world for women and girls. By engaging students at an early stage, the organization hopes to cultivate a new generation of socially conscious changemakers in San Pedro City and beyond.
