CARD MRI Hijos Tours unveils ‘Isla at Pamana’ heritage tour in Western Visayas

WESTERN VISAYAS — CARD MRI Hijos Tours, Inc. has introduced its newest community-based tourism program, “Isla at Pamana,” highlighting the culture, heritage, and local communities of Western Visayas.

The five-day tour, held from August 12 to 16, 2026, brought participants to key destinations in Iloilo City, Kalibo, and Boracay Island as part of an itinerary focused on cultural immersion and community-based tourism.

The program was designed to give CARD communities and the public an opportunity to discover Western Visayas beyond its tourist attractions while supporting local tourism and heritage initiatives.

“This tour program is a return to our shared roots. We connect our travelers to experience a tour with the purpose of learning to appreciate and respect our ancestral cultures and traditions that continue to shape our communities today,” said CARD MRI Hijos Tours President and Chair Marilyn Magampon Manila.

In partnership with USWAG Development Foundation, Inc. (USAWAG DFI), the tour included culinary stops and visits to historic churches in Jaro and Molo, as well as a demonstration of traditional Piña cloth weaving.

Participants also explored Kalibo Cathedral, the town plaza, and an Ati-Atihan exhibit before heading to Boracay Island.

The Boracay leg featured island hopping, a visit to the set of CARD MRI’s inaugural film project, and a cultural exchange with members of the Ati community, recognized as the island’s original inhabitants.

“Our goal for this tour is for participants to go home with more than just good memories. We hope they also gain deeper appreciation for our local culture and for the communities that continue to keep our traditions alive,” Manila said.

The Isla at Pamana Tour is open to both CARD and non-CARD travelers, with accessible and convenient travel package options.

CARD MRI regular staff may avail of the “Travel Now, Pay Later” arrangement, with CARD Leasing and Finance Corporation (CARD LFC) providing the financing scheme and CARD MRI Hijos Tours handling tour bookings.

CARD clients may also access the travel plan through loan products offered by CARD MRI Financial Institutions, subject to applicable terms and conditions. Non-CARD travelers may inquire about tour packages directly through CARD MRI Hijos Tours.

CARD MRI Hijos Tours currently offers tour programs covering destinations in Laguna, Quezon Province, Baguio City, Vigan City, Abra, Albay, Samar, Iloilo, and Davao.
