Dy pushes open, people-centered dialogue on Anti-Political Dynasty Bill
House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III has reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and inclusive public engagement as the House of Representatives launched a series of nationwide consultations on the proposed Anti-Political Dynasty Act.
In a video message, Dy emphasized that major and politically sensitive measures must be shaped through sincere and open discussions with the public. He said the consultations reflect the chamber’s determination to ensure that the voices of Filipinos are heard before advancing long-awaited reforms.

“Ang mga konsultasyong ito ay bahagi ng paninindigan ng Kapulungan na ang mahahalagang batas ay dapat binabalangkas sa pamamagitan ng bukas at tapat na pag-uusap,” Dy said.
The first consultation took place at the Carsigma Gym along Sugar Road in Carmona City and was led by Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, chair of the House Committee on Electoral Reforms and Suffrage.
Discussions centered on several pending anti-political dynasty proposals, including House Bill No. 6771, authored by Dy and House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos. The bill seeks to operationalize the 1987 Constitution’s provision on political dynasties by clearly defining prohibited familial relationships and setting limits on the holding of elective offices.

Dy noted that addressing political dynasties has long been a public clamor and remains an unresolved issue for decades.
“Sa usapin ng political dynasty, malinaw na matagal na itong hinihintay ng sambayanang Pilipino,”he said.
The Speaker from Isabela acknowledged the wide range of perspectives surrounding the issue and stressed that the purpose of the consultations is not to impose decisions, but to listen and gather input from the public.
“Hindi kami narito upang magtakda ng pasya; narito kami upang makinig,” Dy said.

He added that the House intends to hear from stakeholders across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—including supporters, critics, and those seeking deeper understanding of the proposed measure. While expressing strong support for advancing a fair and meaningful Anti-Political Dynasty Bill, Dy underscored that its legitimacy and strength would depend on genuine and broad-based public participation.
He also called on participants to keep the discussions respectful and constructive, urging them to listen to one another and work together toward a law that truly reflects the aspirations of the Filipino people.
Dy assured the public that the insights gathered from the consultations would be carefully considered before committee deliberations resume. More consultations are expected to be held in different parts of the country in the coming weeks.
