Empowering the Next Generation of Chefs: Anihan Technical School Opens 2026 Scholarship Applications

CALAMBA CITY, LAGUNA — In a major move to bridge the gap between education and employment for young Filipino women, Anihan Technical School has officially opened admissions for its prestigious 2026 Culinary Arts and Restaurant Services (CARS) scholarship program.

The announcement comes on the heels of the school being designated as a TESDA-accredited Competency Assessment Center earlier this year. This new status allows Anihan to serve as an official venue for National Certificate (NC) assessments in Bread and Pastry Production, Cookery, and Food & Beverage Services, further solidifying its reputation as a premier vocational hub in Region IV-A.

A Proven Pathway to Success

Anihan’s unique one-year program is designed specifically for female senior high school graduates (aged 18-23) who face financial barriers to higher education. The curriculum is split into two intensive phases:

In-School Phase (6 Months): Rigorous technical training in professional kitchens.

On-the-Job Training (6 Months): Real-world experience with top-tier industry partners like Palms Country Club and Watsons Philippines.

“Our goal is not just to teach cooking, but to build lives,” said a representative from the Foundation for Professional Training, Inc. (FPTI). “By providing full-tuition coverage and even the laboratory ingredients, we ensure that our scholars can focus entirely on mastering their craft.”

Expanding Horizons: The Watsons Partnership

In addition to its culinary focus, Anihan is preparing to launch a specialized six-month Pharmacy Assistance Program in July 2026. Developed in partnership with Watsons Philippines, this initiative aims to diversify career opportunities for young women, offering a direct route into the healthcare retail sector.

Community Impact and Recognition

The school’s impact has not gone unnoticed. In late 2025, the Rotary Club of Calamba recognized Anihan as one of the “Outstanding Vocational Schools” in the city. This follows a record-breaking year where 92 scholars graduated from the CARS program, many of whom secured immediate employment with the school’s network of hospitality partners.

How to Apply

Prospective applicants must be single, female, and residents of the Philippines (though many scholars hail from Calabarzon, Mindoro, and Bicol). Key requirements include:

Academic Records: Form 138/137 or Transcript of Records.

Health Clearance: Medical results for Basic 5 and Hepa A/B.

Documentation: PSA Birth Certificate and a Certificate of Indigency.

Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the Anihan campus at 294 Purok 6, Brgy. Milagrosa, Calamba City, or scan the QR codes found on the school’s latest recruitment flyers.

For those looking to support the mission, the school continues to accept donations through the Anihan Livelihood Center, where proceeds from “Anihan Goodies” directly fund student scholarships.

Anihan Celebrates 40 Years of Empowerment with “Harvesting Dreams” Benefit Lunch

Marking four decades of transforming lives through culinary and hospitality excellence, Anihan is set to host “A Milestone of Harvesting Dreams,” a benefit lunch and thanksgiving celebration on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Investing in the Future of Filipina Professionals

More than just a celebratory gathering, the luncheon serves a vital mission: sustaining the next generation of women in the technical-vocational sector. The proceeds from the event are dedicated to two primary pillars of growth:

Kitchen Laboratory Upgrading: Ensuring students train with industry-standard equipment to remain competitive in the global culinary landscape.

A Legacy of Empowerment

Under the banner of #EmpoweringWomen, Anihan has spent forty years bridging the gap between dreams and employment. The upcoming benefit lunch offers partners, donors, and alumni a chance to reflect on these successes while actively contributing to the “harvest” of future careers.

Attendees are invited to join the festivities in smart casual attire for an afternoon of gratitude, fine dining, and community building.
