Governor Sol Aragones Dedicates First Salary to Help “Batang Warriors”

Laguna Governor Sol Aragones marked her first month in office with a heartfelt gesture—donating her very first salary to children bravely fighting serious illnesses, known as the “Batang Warriors.”

The contribution will fund therapy sessions and help cover both medical and daily needs of the young beneficiaries. Governor Sol pledged that this would be only the beginning of her support.

“Kung anong pwedeng itulong, itutulong po natin. Paraan ko po ito para magpasalamat at magbalik ng biyaya dahil binigyan tayo ng pagkakataon maglingkod sa Laguna,” she said during the turnover ceremony.

The Batang Warriors organization was founded by Danilo Condiction Jr., who ensures that all children present at charity events become recipients of aid. Leading alongside him are President Dels Alinsod, Vice President Redelyn Macandile, and Adviser Lilibeth Lazaga. Their advocacy spans San Pedro, Biñan, Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao, and Calamba, supporting children with cancer, autism, cerebral palsy, chronic kidney disease, heart disease, brain conditions, and other severe illnesses.

“Yung unang sweldo ko ibibigay ko pang pa-therapy,” Governor Sol told the crowd, drawing warm applause from parents and community members.

One mother, whose daughter Maria is a long-time beneficiary, became emotional as she recalled how the Governor—then still a congresswoman—helped secure a guarantee letter for Maria’s life-saving surgery. “Si Gov. Sol, congressman pa lang yan, kadugsong na ng buhay ni Maria yan, kaya yung buhay ni Maria kadugsong yung serbisyo ng isang Gov. Sol Aragones,” she said.

Addressing the first batch of 14 children, the Governor offered encouragement to both parents and patients. “Ang mga nanay, lakasan lang ang loob, laban lang tayo, kaya natin yan,” she told the mothers. To the children, she said: “Laging mag-pray, lakasan lang ang loob, kaya natin yan.”

She also promised to assist future batches of Batang Warriors. “Bibigyan ko rin po yung iba, papatawag ko yung 2nd at 3rd batch na pumunta dito. Kung hindi po kaya, papuntahin ko po,” she assured. Adviser Lilibeth Lazaga expressed the group’s gratitude, saying, “Ngayon lang po kami nakatanggap talaga formally ng tulong.”

Sadly, the community continues to experience loss, with some children passing away each week due to the severity of their conditions. One recently received aid through the Akay ni Gob Action Center shortly before their passing.

Governor Sol said her act of giving reflects her vision for a “GOByernong may SOLusyon”—a government that finds solutions and delivers tangible help. She vowed to keep extending support to the Batang Warriors, determined to give each child a fighting chance for better health and a brighter future.
